Hi I'm Lexii, the new content producer for Mafia Bags. I'm As a woman in my mid twenties, I've done all sorts of jobs as I work to getting where I want to be in my career. From waitressing, brand ambassador jobs, marketing jobs, office jobs, social media jobs, photography, you name it, I've dabbled in it.
Now, one thing that's always been appealing to me that is people that work from home. What do they even do? How do they get this magical job where they get to sit in their pajamas all day and have cereal and milk for every meal?
It wasn't too long ago that the idea of working from home or working remotely was mostly frowned upon, no matter what city you lived in. Nowadays however, especially in San Francisco, there's almost a demand for self-motivated people who can sufficiently work with little to no direction from anywhere in the city...or world.
I needed to know more about this enticing world of the work from home community (or WFH as it's nicknamed), so I did some digging.
I followed my friend around the city, a young twenty-something with multiple jobs, many interests, and a whole slew of places she has to be at any given time. "Where is she going" I constantly wondered as we went from her house to a coffee shop, to a much needed breath of fresh air at Fort Point. After giving herself a few minutes of a "break", which, was hardly a break because she was still checking emails from her phone, we went over to a different coffee shop where she continued to work.
As a consultant, she never has the same day twice. The mystery of how any given week is going to play out is what keeps her motivated. The excitement of new client prospects, continuous meetings and interviews selling the brand she's worked so hard to create from the ground floor, all qualities of a self-motivated work-from-home freelancer.
Crazy! Who would've thought that someone who has the luxury to stay in their bed all day with netflix on while still getting paid, actually goes and and...works?! Definitely made me feel better about having to go into the office, knowing that these freelancers and WFH-er's are often busier and having more hectic days than I do!
With that being said, it's definitely important that the tools they use are both sleek and efficient. From the laptops they carry being light weight, so they can trot around the city with ease, to their backpacks being sleek and visually appealing, while not being too bulky.
There's really no question that Mafia Bags make a great addition to any WFH essentials.
