WHY IS EVERY BAG UNIQUE?
Our bags and accessories are truly unique items: they are all crafted by hand from repurposed kitesurfing, windsurfing and sailboat sails. Each sail has its own history and distinctive look, which our team uses as a starting point for creating vibrant new products. Parts for each bag are cut by hand from individual sails, one sail at a time, and the possible combinations of patterns and color are nearly infinite. We hope you’ll enjoy your unique handmade and sustainable Mafia bag.
WHY ARE YOU USING REUSED MATERIALS?
We started with a basic idea: make something new from a really durable, versatile, colorful material that cannot be recycled using conventional methods. Our first bags were made to carry our wetsuits, and we discovered that not only did they function well, but looked great and had the potential to create positive change in our environment.
HOW DO I CLEAN MY BAG?
Cleaning your Mafia bag is simple. Fill the sink or bathtub with cool to lukewarm water. Do not use hot water; it could damage your pack. Add a gentle detergent or natural soap to the water and move your backpack around vigorously in the water. Use an old toothbrush for extra cleaning on problematic spots. Drain the soapy water from the tub and then refill it with clean water to rinse it. Finally, hang your bag to air dry, opening all of the compartments and pockets, to prevent odors. For drying a shady but open space is best, as direct sunlight can cause your bag’s colors to fade. Machine washing your MAFIA bag is NOT recommended as the zippers, webbings and buckles might be damaged.
DO THE LAPTOP SLEEVES ONLY FIT MACS?
No. They are custom made for Macs, but other 13” laptops will also fit.
WHERE DOES MAFIABAGS GET ALL ITS SAILS FROM?
We have built relationships with sailors and athletes from around the world to be able to gather all the material we need to create the unique bags and accessories in our shops. We love to capture the great adventures these sailors and athletes share about these sails going into our workshop.
ARE ALL COMPONENTS OF A MAFIA BAG MADE FROM REUSED SAILS?
Repurposed sails represent 80% of our raw materials. Not every element in our bags is made from sails; we also use some new materials to make our products. Webbings, backpack fabric and buckles are new. We source these products thoughtfully from local suppliers in the US.
WHY HAVEN’T I RECEIVED A CONFIRMATION FOR MY ORDER?
This can happen for two reasons. Either you have entered an invalid email address or your order has not been placed properly. You can get in touch with Mafia by using the contact form or send us an email to info@mafiabags.com. Please also check your spam folder to verify the email didn’t end up there by mistake.
SHIPPING & DELIVERY
All shipments have a processing time of 24-72 hours. · We ship all orders* as they arrive on Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays. Before we can ship your purchase, we may need to confirm your details with your card issuer. We will do our best to keep any delays to a minimum. After an ordered is shipped you will receive a tracking number as provided by the shipping carrier. Please allow at least 12 hours for the USPS website to update itself before tracking your package.
USPS assumes all responsibility for delivering your purchase. We can’t track packages after they have left our shop. Please use the tracking number you are provided in the confirmation email to access the USPS information. If you need to file a claim for a lost or stolen package, please do so here:
Shipping fees are non-refundable
Mafia reserves the right to decline any order. Each order will be reviewed before shipment and a cancellation may be made in specific cases of negative customer credit history, inconsistencies related to the provided billing and shipping address, or a requested shipping destination which we are not allowed to deliver to. If your order is declined, we will credit your account within 24-48 hours.
RETURNS & EXCHANGES
We accept requests for returns and exchanges within the first 14 days after your purchase. To qualify for a return or exchange, the item must be in its original condition. Products that have been worn, used, damaged or altered will not be accepted for return or exchange. We don’t refund products damaged after they are shipped. In the unlikely event they are damaged in transit you must file a claim with the carrier. Shipping costs and credit card fees are non-refundable.
How to return an item
Submit a request for return or exchange approval to info@mafiabags.com. A Mafia representative will get in touch within 48 hours with the appropriate case number and next steps.
Mafia bags are meant be used every day and are made from sails, a durable material designed to resist the most extreme conditions.
LIFETIME WARRANTY
We are proud to offer a lifetime warranty and give support our customers years after the product was purchased. In the case of a material defect in the product, you have the right to send it to our repair center in San Francisco, where we will repair your product free of charge. Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Seller warrants to Buyer that that all Goods will be free from material defects in material and workmanship for the lifetime of the Goods. EXCEPT FOR THE WARRANTY SET FORTH IN THE FOREGOING SENTENCE, SELLER MAKES NOWARRANTY WHATSOEVER WITH RESPECT TO THE GOODS, INCLUDING ANY (a) WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY; (b) WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE; (c) WARRANTY AGAINST INFRINGEMENT OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF A THIRD PARTY; WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED BY LAW, COURSE OF DEALING, COURSE OF PERFORMANCE, USAGE OF TRADE OR OTHERWISE. Goods manufactured by a third party (“Third Party Goods”) may constitute, contain, be contained in, incorporated into, attached to or packaged together with, the Goods. Third Party Goods are not covered by the warranty in this Section 8. For the avoidance of doubt, SELLER MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS ORWARRANTIES WITH RESPECT TO ANY THIRD PARTY PRODUCT, INCLUDING ANY (a) WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY; (b) WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE; (c) WARRANTY OF TITLE; OR (d) WARRANTY AGAINST INFRINGEMENT OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF A THIRD PARTY; WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED BY LAW, COURSE OF DEALING, COURSE OF PERFORMANCE, USAGE OF TRADE OR OTHERWISE. With respect to any Goods claimed defective, Seller shall, in its sole discretion, either: (i) repair or replace such Goods (or the defective part) or (ii) credit or refund the price of such Goods at the pro rata contract rate provided that, if Seller so requests, Buyer shall, at Seller's expense, return such Goods to Seller. THE REMEDIES SET FORTH IN THIS SECTION 8 SHALL BE BUYER'S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY AND SELLER'S ENTIRE LIABILITY FOR ANY BREACH OF THE LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY SET FORTH IN THIS SECTION 8
